You do not need to drag and drop. Tell chat what you want added, changed or moved on a dashboard and it makes the change for you. This article covers the flow, what happens with dashboards you did not create, and what the Beta editor does not yet do.
The flow
- Ask chat to edit a dashboard — “Edit my aisle dashboard” — or open the dashboard in Library and open chat from there.
- If you did not name one, chat lists the dashboards you can edit and you pick.
- Chat asks what you would like to change. Describe it: “Sort the aisle chart by sketchy-ingredient share, highest first,” “Add a tile showing products ready to publish,” “Remove the second table.”
- Chat makes the change, one step at a time, and shows you the result. Keep going or stop.
Dashboards you did not create: copy-on-edit
Welcome Kit starter dashboards and dashboards shared by teammates are read-only. If you ask chat to change one, it will tell you it cannot edit that one and offer to make your own version. Say yes and a copy lands in your Library; that copy is yours to edit, rename, delete and share. Nothing you change affects the original or anyone else.
The same applies to dashboards imported from Marketplace: once imported, the copy is fully yours.
Building from scratch
Ask for what you want and chat builds it from your data: “Build a dashboard of my products by UPF tier with the sugar penalty for each,” “Give me a comparison of my brand to [competitor].” New dashboards are saved to Library.
Sharing
Library is shared across your organization, so a dashboard you build or copy is available to teammates. Use the search scope in Library (My library / Shared with me / Shared by me) to find it later.
Known issue in the Beta
Imported Marketplace dashboards should be renameable. If the rename lock still appears on an import, ask chat to “create my own version” and rename the copy. A fix is in progress.
Not yet in the Beta
Version history, undo, side-by-side diffing and template-level edits come after the Beta. Chat-driven editing and “import a dashboard, make it yours” work today. See What’s not yet available in the WISEcode AI Beta.
