The Regulatory & compliance pathway on the WISEcode AI home opens an interactive dashboard that screens federal and state food rules against your own products. This article explains what it covers, how to use it with chat, and how to read the results.
Opening the dashboard
- From the WISEcode AI home, open the Regulatory & compliance card (“Read the FDA update”).
- Or ask chat from anywhere: “Check my products against California law” or “Which of my products are affected by the latest FDA update?”
Sub-chips on the card give you specific starts, such as “My line vs. California law,” “My line vs. Texas law” and “What would the GRAS proposal change?”
What it screens
The dashboard runs your portfolio’s ingredient lists against federal rules and the state-level rules WISEcode tracks — for example state restrictions on specific additives and colorants — and shows which of your products contain an ingredient a rule touches, which rule, and the effective timing where known.
Working through the results with chat
Chat reads from the open dashboard, so you can ask follow-ups in the same conversation:
- “List every product affected by the California rule, with the ingredient that triggers it.”
- “What would I replace Red 40 with to clear this across my line?”
- “Build me a dashboard of affected products by state and deadline.”
When a change is needed, chat can take you straight into editing the product: update the ingredient list, verify the new ingredients inline, and publish the edits. Settling an ingredient once propagates to every product that uses it.
How to read it
- A product flagged for one state is not necessarily flagged everywhere. Check the rule and the markets you sell in.
- Rules change. The dashboard reflects what WISEcode currently tracks; chat tells you plainly when it cannot see something.
- WISEcode does not issue legal or regulatory compliance advice. Use the screening to prioritize and to brief your regulatory advisor.
Common questions
Does this cover labeling rules or only ingredients? The Beta screens ingredient-level rules. Ask chat what it can and cannot check for a given rule.
Are unpublished products included? Yes — anything in your private workspace with a name and ingredients is screened, so you can fix products before they go live.
Can I save the results? Ask chat to save the view as a dashboard; it lands in your Library for the whole team.
