Chat is the primary surface of WISEcode AI. It is available from every page, it knows your portfolio and whatever you are looking at, and it does real work — building dashboards, checking regulations, verifying ingredients, publishing products, running bulk actions. One conversation, no handoffs.
Where to find it
Chat is one click away from Portfolio, Library, Marketplace and the WISEcode AI home. Wherever it opens, it is portfolio-aware: it knows your products, your dashboards and the context of the page. When a question needs more capability, chat expands its toolkit in place — same conversation, no navigation.
What chat can do
- Answer questions about your portfolio — “Which of my foods are Super Ultra-Processed?”, “How many products are ready to publish?”
- Build and edit dashboards — from scratch, or by changing ones already in your Library
- Pull up a product and walk through what is on it: ingredients, nutrition, scores, codes
- Add and edit products end to end, verifying ingredients inline and publishing in the same conversation
- Run bulk actions — verify, publish, rename brands, clean up
- Help with reformulation — explore swaps against a goal such as NON-UPF, a retailer code or a cleaner label
- Check regulatory rules — screen your products against federal and state food rules
- Compare brands — head-to-head or across a category
- Start NON-UPF verification, review Shield status, and surface what is blocking it
- Audit a product — scores explained, drivers surfaced, next steps proposed
- Write a white paper or create a code — longer written outputs built from your data; they are saved to Library under Reports
- Answer catalog questions beyond your own line — “How many ingredients have GRAS status?”, “Energy drinks: sweeteners vs UPF tier”
Chat accepts uploads — images, PDFs, text documents and saved web pages — so you can hand it a label photo or a spec sheet.
Starting from a pathway
The WISEcode AI home shows six pathway cards. Each is a guided starting point; the card says whether it opens a dashboard or a chat.
| Pathway | Opens | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Product portfolio — “Open my portfolio” | Portfolio page | Published / Ready to publish / Needs work counts and your product work |
| Portfolio analytics — “Chart my line” | Dashboard | Portfolio Insights: your Composite Intelligence Score, processing mix, GRAS coverage and the ingredients driving them |
| Competitive Analysis — “Compare brands” | Dashboard | My Brand vs. Competitor: your brand head-to-head with a brand of your choice |
| Verify your NON-UPF products — “Start verification” | Workflow or dashboard | The verification page if you have products to verify, otherwise the Portfolio UPF Report dashboard (the card then reads “Open my UPF report”) |
| Regulatory & compliance — “Read the FDA update” | Dashboard | Federal and state rules screened against your line, with sub-chips “My line vs. California law,” “My line vs. Texas law” and “What would the GRAS proposal change?” |
| Analysis & diagnostics — “Audit a product” | Dashboard | Product Insights: why a product scores the way it does and what would move it; sub-chips for “Score a recipe pre-launch,” “Simulate an ingredient swap,” “Best-scoring ingredients” |
Pathways are guidance, not restrictions. Chat has its whole toolkit no matter which card you start from, and you can change direction mid-conversation. Below the cards, suggestion chips give concrete examples to try with no typing — for example “Write a white paper”, “Create a code” and “How many ingredients have GRAS status?”.
Getting good answers
- Name products by UPC when you have several flavors or sizes.
- Say what you want to achieve (“get this product to NON-UPF”) and let chat propose the path.
- Ask chat to save anything useful — a dashboard, a comparison, a reference — and it lands in your Library for the whole team.
- Chat tells you what it can and cannot see. If a dashboard shows only part of your catalog, it says so and offers to count across all of it.
What chat will not do without asking
Anything that changes your products — saving an edit, publishing, bulk actions — is confirmed with you first, with the scope spelled out.
