WISEcode AI turns the reformulation methodology in the Reformulation Guidance section into a conversation. Tell chat the goal — NON-UPF, a retailer’s ingredient standard, a cleaner label — and it shows which ingredients stand in the way, what swapping them would do to the score, and takes you through updating and republishing the product.
Start from the product
- Ask chat to audit the product: “Why isn’t UPC 0123456789 eligible for NON-UPF?” — or open the Product Insights dashboard (“Audit a product”) and pick it.
- Chat explains the score: the processing weight of each ingredient, the sugar penalty, and any Unique Ingredient of Concern, in the order that matters most.
- Ask what would move it: “What is the single change that gets this to Moderate?”
Explore swaps against a goal
Name the goal and chat proposes swaps that fit it:
- “Get this product to NON-UPF.” — removes any UIC first, then sugar, then Level 3 ingredients, following the sequence in Common Reasons Products Fail Verification.
- “Make this compliant with [retailer]’s banned-ingredient list.”
- “Simulate replacing modified starch with native starch.” — the Simulate an ingredient swap chip does the same from the dashboard.
- “Score this recipe before launch: …” — paste a draft ingredient list and nutrition panel to score a product that does not exist yet.
Chat models both sides of a change — for example that replacing sugar with a non-nutritive sweetener removes the sugar penalty but adds a Level 3 ingredient — so you see the net effect before committing.
Apply the change and republish
- Tell chat to update the product with the new ingredient list. It verifies the new ingredients inline.
- The product is rescored immediately in your private workspace; dashboards reflect it at once.
- If the product is live, choose Publish edits when the new formulation is on shelf, or Keep saved only until it is.
- If the published product now meets the Non-UPF standard, it shows as Ready to verify. A product that already held a Shield needs verification again for the new formulation.
Across your whole line
Open the Portfolio UPF Report dashboard for the ingredient drivers across your portfolio, then ask chat: “If I replace [ingredient] everywhere, which products change tier?” One ingredient appearing in twenty products is the highest-leverage change you can make.
