Most problems affect only the row they occur in. Three do not — they stop the entire file from being processed. Check for these before you upload.
1. A duplicate UPC
The same UPC appearing on two rows blocks the file. Each UPC must be unique within the file. A multi-pack and its base unit have different UPCs, so referencing a base unit is not a duplicate.
2. A brand that is not registered
Every value in the Brand column must match a brand already registered in your account, spelled the same way. Register the brand first, then upload.
3. A modified header row
Renaming, reordering or removing header columns breaks the mapping the importer relies on. Always start from a fresh copy of the template and add rows beneath the header without touching it.
About the UPC itself
A UPC must be a valid GTIN with a correct check digit. It also derives the food's underlying identifier, which means it cannot be changed once the product is published — a mistyped UPC is not a quick edit later.
