Not everything WISEcode finds for your brand is yours, and not everything you once sold is still on shelf. This article covers how to reject products that are not yours, remove products you no longer want, and keep your portfolio clean — one at a time or in bulk.
Reject vs. remove
- Reject a product that is not yours — a look-alike, a distributor’s item, a product assigned to your brand in error. Rejection is remembered: WISEcode will not add the product back on future discovery runs.
- Remove a product that is yours but you no longer want in your portfolio or in the app — discontinued, sold to another brand, or added by mistake. If it was published, removing it takes it out of the WISEcode consumer app.
Rejecting a product
- Find it in Portfolio (search by name or UPC) or ask chat to pull it up.
- Choose Reject, or tell chat: “This product isn’t ours.”
- It leaves your portfolio and stays rejected.
For a batch — common right after a new organization is built, when Forager may have found a few products under a shared prefix — use the bulk clean-up and remove action in Portfolio, or give chat the list: “Reject these UPCs: …” Chat confirms the count before it acts.
Removing a product
Same flow, choosing Remove instead. Removing a published product takes it out of the app; its verification history stays with your organization.
Products you cannot publish
A product that is yours but sits under a GS1 prefix you have not been granted is not a candidate for rejection — keep it and request the prefix. See Why can’t I publish these products? GS1 prefix at the publish gate.
Changed your mind?
If you rejected a product that turns out to be yours, add it back through chat with its UPC. The new entry is yours and overrides the rejection. If you cannot re-add it, submit a request with the UPC and a member of the WISEcode team will review it.
Common questions
Does rejecting a product affect how it appears to shoppers? No. Rejection only tells WISEcode the product is not part of your brand’s portfolio.
Did my rejections from WISEcode Intelligence carry over? Yes. Everything you rejected before is still rejected and now enforced on every discovery run.
Do I need to remove discontinued products? Only if you do not want them tracked or shown in the app. Unpublished products that stay in your workspace still count in your analysis.
