In WISEcode Intelligence, your first task was to claim the products WISEcode had discovered for your brand. In WISEcode AI the claim step is retired. If a product has a name and an ingredient list, it is in your analysis automatically. Your first task now is to publish — move the products that are ready from your private workspace into the WISEcode app, where shoppers can see them.
The three publishing states
| State | What it means | Your next step |
|---|---|---|
| Needs work | Something is missing — Nutrition Facts, an ingredient check, ingredients, UPC, GS1 prefix, or name. | Open the product’s Steps link or the matching Fix Group and supply what is missing. |
| Ready to publish | Nothing missing. | Publish when you are ready. |
| Published | In the WISEcode app. Shoppers see it. | Keep it current. Edits to a live product wait as “pending edits” until you publish them. |
Why publishing matters
- Only Published products reach shoppers in the WISEcode consumer app.
- Only Published products are eligible for NON-UPF Shield verification. The verification lens (“Does it have the NON-UPF shield?”) is scoped to Published products.
- Unpublished products still count in your own dashboards and chat answers, so you can work on them privately first.
How to publish
One product at a time
- Open the product from Portfolio, or ask chat to pull it up.
- If anything is missing, chat tells you what and walks you through adding it — including verifying ingredient matches inline.
- When the product is complete, chat prompts you to publish. Confirm, and the product goes live.
Many products at once
- In Portfolio, open the Publish what’s ready Fix Group, or filter the Publishing lens to Ready to publish.
- Select the products (or select all) and choose Publish.
Or simply ask chat: “Publish all of my ready products.”
The GS1 prefix check
At publish, WISEcode checks the product’s UPC against the GS1 prefixes granted to your organization. A product whose UPC falls under someone else’s prefix cannot be published from your organization, even if it carries your brand name. Those products appear under the GS1 prefix filter. See Why can’t I publish these products? GS1 prefix at the publish gate for the two ways to resolve it.
Editing a product that is already live
When you change a Published product, the live version stays in the app while your edits wait in your private workspace. Chat offers Publish edits (push the new version now) or Keep saved only (publish later). Products with pending edits count as Published and also show under “Is anything waiting on you?”
Products WISEcode discovered for you
Products WISEcode found for your brand arrive in your private workspace pre-matched and pre-scored, with variants grouped and duplicates caught. There is nothing to claim: review them, fix anything in Needs work, and publish the ones you want shoppers to see. If a product is not yours, reject it — it stays rejected and will not be added back on future discovery runs.
If you migrated from WISEcode Intelligence
Products you had already Claimed or Verified are treated as Published. You do not repeat the step. Products that were discovered but never claimed now sit as Needs work or Ready to publish so that you explicitly opt them in. See the migration FAQ for the full mapping.
Common questions
Do I still need to claim anything? No. The claim step is gone. Name plus ingredients puts a product in your analysis; Publish puts it in the app.
Can I publish a product that is missing an image? Images are not one of the “What’s missing” blockers, but a product without one shows a placeholder in the app. Add front-of-pack imagery when you have it.
I published a product but it is not in the app yet. Check the row status. If it says “With WISEcode, about a day,” WISEcode is finishing work on it and it will appear shortly.
What if WISEcode assigned the wrong product to my brand? Reject it in Portfolio. If the UPC is yours but blocked by the GS1 check, follow the GS1 publish-gate article.
Can I remove a product from the app? Yes. Use the clean-up and remove bulk action, or ask chat.
