Bulk Product Upload: How the CSV Template Works

Bulk upload lets you add many products to your portfolio at once using a single spreadsheet. Each row is one product, and each column maps to a field WISEcode Intelligence needs in order to score that product.

Before you start

• Download the current CSV template. Column names and their order are what the importer reads, so do not rename, reorder, add or delete columns.
• Enter one product per row.
• A single file can hold up to 500 products. Split larger catalogs into multiple files.
• Your brand must already be registered in your account before the products that reference it will import.

Reading the header row

A star beside a column name in the header means that column is required. Columns without a star are optional or apply only to certain kinds of rows.

Zero is not the same as blank

This is the single most important habit to build. Type 0 when the true value is zero. Leave a cell empty only when you genuinely do not have the value. An empty cell is treated as missing data, and missing data is the most common reason a product sits waiting for a fix instead of importing cleanly.

Saving the file

If you edit the template in Excel, use File → Save As and choose CSV UTF-8. Saving as a workbook (.xlsx) or as a non-UTF-8 CSV can corrupt accented characters in ingredient lists.
