Creating a New Organization: GS1 Authentication and Automatic Portfolio Setup

Signing up for WISEcode AI is automatic and portfolio-first. You authenticate your brand’s GS1 license at registration, and WISEcode builds your private workspace — with your portfolio already in it — in a few minutes. There is no review queue and no manual setup.

What you need

• A business email address
• Your brand’s GS1 company prefix — the prefix on the UPCs of the products you sell. WISEcode verifies it against the GS1 register. If your products use more than one prefix, you can request additional license grants from your organization profile after sign-up.

What happens when you register

1. GS1 brand authentication. You enter your GS1 prefix; WISEcode verifies it against the GS1 register to confirm your brand’s authority.
2. Forager finds your products. WISEcode searches your website and the WISEcode catalog for products under your prefix.
3. WISEparser reads every ingredient list and feeds the scoring engines, so products land already scored.
4. Your private workspace is built with the portfolio pre-populated: variants grouped, duplicates caught, and each product given a next step.
5. The Welcome tour opens with three starter dashboards grounded in what WISEcode knows about the food landscape, the ingredient layer, and your own portfolio.

End to end this takes roughly 5–10 minutes, depending on how many products are in your catalog and how deep your web presence is.

What to do first

1. Open your Portfolio and look at “Is anything waiting on you?”
2. Reject anything Forager found that is not yours. Rejected products stay rejected on future runs.
3. Work through the Fix Groups: confirm ingredient matches, add missing data, link any additional GS1 prefix.
4. Publish what is ready. Nothing reaches shoppers until you do.
5. Add anything Forager missed through chat or a CSV upload under + Add.

Common questions

I registered at a tradeshow. Do I still need to sign up? Yes — an event registration captures your interest but does not create a login. Sign up with your business email and GS1 prefix and your workspace is built automatically.

My portfolio is empty after sign-up. Forager found nothing under your prefix on the web or in the WISEcode catalog — common for new launches and small brands. Add your products through chat or upload a catalog CSV. See Adding Products to Your Portfolio.

Some of my products are missing or belong to another prefix. Request an additional GS1 license grant from your organization profile, or see Why can’t I publish these products? GS1 prefix at the publish gate.

Can I invite teammates? Yes. Team members share the organization’s Portfolio and Library.
