Your organization profile is where you manage who can work in your WISEcode AI workspace and which GS1 prefixes your organization is allowed to publish under. This article covers both.
Team members
Everyone you invite shares the same organization: the same Portfolio, the same private workspace, and the same Library. Dashboards and chats a teammate builds are available to the whole team, and anyone can pick up where someone else left off.
- Invite a teammate from your organization profile using their business email. They receive an invitation link to create their login.
- Expired invitation? Re-send it from the profile, or ask the teammate to submit a request and a member of the WISEcode team will send a fresh one.
- Remove a teammate from the same page when someone leaves. Their dashboards stay in the organization’s Library.
GS1 license grants
Your organization was authenticated against the GS1 register when it was created, using the GS1 company prefix you entered at sign-up. That prefix is what lets you publish products: WISEcode checks every product’s UPC against your granted prefixes at publish.
Many brands sell under more than one prefix — an older prefix from before a rebrand, a prefix licensed to a parent company, or one a co-manufacturer registered. Products under a prefix you have not been granted show under the GS1 prefix “What’s missing” filter and in the Link a GS1 prefix Fix Group, and cannot be published until the prefix is added.
Requesting an additional grant
- Open your organization profile and choose to request another GS1 license grant.
- Enter the prefix. If you have authority to publish under it, the request goes to WISEcode’s GS1 License Review queue.
- Once approved, the prefix is added to your organization. Products under it leave the GS1 prefix filter automatically, and any that have nothing else missing move to Ready to publish.
If the prefix belongs to a related entity and you are not sure you can request it directly, submit a request with the UPCs, the entity that holds the prefix, and any supporting documents. Support reviews the relationship and can grant publishing authority for that prefix. See Why can’t I publish these products? GS1 prefix at the publish gate.
Brand names
Brand names are separate from GS1 prefixes. To change the brand name shown on a set of products, use the bulk brand rename in Portfolio or ask chat: “Rename brand ‘Acme Foods’ to ‘Acme’ on all products.” CSV uploads must use a brand name already registered to your organization.
Common questions
Can two organizations share a prefix? Publishing authority for a prefix is granted per organization after review. If a parent and a subsidiary both need to publish under one prefix, each should request the grant and explain the relationship.
Do teammates need their own GS1 authentication? No. GS1 grants belong to the organization, not to individual users.
I migrated from WISEcode Intelligence. Are my team and prefix intact? Yes. Team members and account settings carried over, and your registered prefix is your first grant.
